Paper Parlor

Paper Parlor

Paper Parlor is conversation, foliage, liability, branches, fragility, paper pulp, sharing, banana leaves, methyl cellulose, awareness, string, conservation, clay, and tea. It is an exploration of the way humanity interacts with the natural landscape in terms of fragility and home. The artifacts are comprised of sticks, string, and natural paper. The paper is made by processing leaves like the ones shown in the window, breaking them into fibers, pressing them, and applying them to the armatures, We invite you to sit within this landscape, drink tea from handmade cups, and question how you relate to nature. This is the continuation of Becs Epstein’s study of papermaking and sustainability
